Jahlil Okafor & Paul White Make Sun-Times All Public Basketball Team
Lady Dolphins Win City Basketball Championship Achieve a Rare "Four-Peat"
The Whitney Young Lady Dolphins defeated Morgan Park Academy 61-48 at Chicago State University to win the City Championship for the 4th consecutive year. The Sophomore Lady Dolphins also won their City Championship, defeating Hyde Park Academy 65-33 in the earlier game. Congratulations to Coach Irvin, Coach Spann and all the Lady Dolphins for their victories.
Assistant Principal Melvin Soto Tech Award Finalist
Mr. Soto has been named a Finalist in the CPS' First Annual "Ones to Watch" Technology Award. One of ten Finalists in the City, Soto was nominated and recognized by his peers as someone who has demonstrated strong leadership in the areas of technology and technology integration. Soto was selected because of his ability to promote collaboration and provide advice, assistance and mentorship to others.
