Musical Tribute to Chris Pineda Available on WY Stream Radio.
Martha Murphy, musician and teacher at WY reflects on the life of her former student Chris Pineda. It contains a few stories, the Moe Bandy tune "Too Old To Die Young" and the "Ashokan Farewell."

A roller skating party is being held in support of the Whitney M. Young Magnet High School Christopher Pineda Scholarship. The party will be held Friday, May 18th, 2007 at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park & Family Entertainment Center, 1219 W. 76th Street (76th & Racine) Chicago, IL. 60620.

There is a meeting scheduled on May 5th, 2007 to distribute flyers for Chris Pineda. The meeting is scheduled to take place on 107th and Ewing at 10:00 A.M.. The family will be escorted by police and everyone is welcome to come. Everyone is encouraged to wear the "Raise Hope" Chris Pineda t-shirts. There will also be a ribbon sale. Each ribbon is green and engraved with the inscription "In Loving memory of Christopher Pineda". The ribbons are being sold to raise money for any future expenses that might come up during the investigation. Each ribbon is $1.50 and everyone who is interested in helping is encouraged to buy one and to wear it during the time that they distribute the bulletins. This event is being sponsored by "Crime Stoppers."

Whitney M. Young Magnet High School held a memorial service in honor of Christopher Pineda on Monday, April 9th, in the main gym of the physical education building. Chris' memory was honored by students performing a poem, a song and candid stories from friends. There were over 1600 people in attendance. Chicago Board of Education president, Rufus Williams, authorized a $10,000 reward for anyone coming forward with information to prosecute the assailants.

Whitney M. Young Magnet High School will be holding a memorial service in honor of Christopher Pineda on Monday, April 9th, in the main gym of the physical education building. The service will start at 9:00 AM. We ask all attendees to honor Chris' memory by wearing a white t-shirt or a "United for Chris" t-shirt.

The "United for Chris" t-shirts will be available for purchase before or after the event. All proceeds will go directly to Chris' family. Additionally, donations to the family are still being accepted through the school's main office.

We are sad to report that the body of missing senior student, Christopher Pineda of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, was found. The body was pulled from the Cal-Sag Channel in Blue Island on Friday evening. The Chicago Police are declaring it a homicide.

We would like to thank the Chicago Police Department that diligently followed every lead in trying to find Chris. We would also like to thank the group of students, parents and staff of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School that formed "United for Chris." This historic group used the power of social and technical networking to bring awareness to the disappearance of Chris. We also extend an arm of gratitude to Anna Pavichevich, teacher at Mather High School and mother of one of our students, who organized media awareness. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family.
